Many people are anti-communist because of the historical failures and atrocities associated with communist regimes in countries like the Soviet Union, China, and North Korea. The lack of political freedoms, human rights abuses, and economic inefficiencies under these regimes have led to a negative perception of communism. National Socialism, as practiced by the Nazi party in Germany, incorporated elements of socialism in its ideology, such as state control of the economy and social welfare programs. However, it was also fiercely anti-communist and sought to eliminate communist influence in Germany. Some on the Left may support socialist policies without fully endorsing communist principles. Ultimately, whether the Left is communist depends on the specific beliefs and goals of the individuals or groups within that political spectrum. **
